Nakatakdang kasuhan ni Philippine National Police Director for Logistics PMaj. Gen. Mario Reyes ang kanyang “pekeng pamangkin” na sinita ng mga tauhan ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) dahil sa illegal na pagdaan sa EDSA bus lane nitong Huwebes ng gabi.
Sa kanyang pahayag nitong Linggo, itinanggi ni Reyes na kamag-anak niya si “Major Miguel” na mula sa Intelligence Service of the AFP (ISAFP).
“I am now talking with my lawyers for the filing of appropriate charges against the namedropper Major Miguel,” ani Reyes.
Nilinaw ni Reyes, hindi niya kadugo o kamag-anak ang isang “Major Miguel” at hindi niya pa ito nakilala kailanman kaya nagulat siya nang sabihing pamangkin niya ito.
Sinabi ni Reyes na hindi tamang i-name drop siya ng sinumang lumabag sa batas.
“I strongly condemn the act of namedropping me in a recent incident regarding a traffic violation of the EDSA bus lane policy. Any attempt to exploit the name or reputation of a law enforcement officer for personal gain or to avoid accountability is utterly unacceptable and undermines the integrity of our organization. The PNP enforces the law without fear or favor,” ani Reyes.
Hinikayat din ng opisyal ang MMDA na maglabas ng show cause order at kasuhan ng usurpation of authority si “Major Miguel” na umano’y naging abusado.
