Kapwa nanawagan ang mga kongresista sa House of Representatives na huwag palampasin at dapat kasuhan ng sedition o rebellion si dating House Speaker at Davao del Norte Rep Pantaleon Alvarez matapos nitong hikayatin ang Armed Forces of the Philippines na bawiin ang suporta sa liderato ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos.
“The remarks of the former speaker are uncalled for. That is tantamount to an act of sedition or rebellion,” paliwanag ni Pimentel.
Ani Pimentel ang nais ni Alvarez ay ang pagwatak watakin ang bawat Filipino.
“Now is not the time to be divisive when our country is trying to promote our country to be an investment haven to foreign investors. Instead, we should all unite and give our support to President Bongbong Marcos Jr. with his effort for economic reforms,” giit pa ni Pimentel.
Para naman kay Lanao del Norte Rep Khalid Dimaporo dapat maharap sa ethics committee ng Kamara si Alvarez.
“I would kindly urge the former speaker to be cautious with his words and clear on his intent. At face value, his anti-government statements are unbecoming of a member of the House of Representatives and may warrant an ethics case against him,” ani Dimaporo.
Umapela si Dimaporo sa publiko na huwag pansinin na ang mga negatibong pahayag ni Alvarez na malinaw na kritiko lamang ng Marcos administration dahil sa die hard supporter ito ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na nahaharap ngayon sa kritisismo at kontrobersiya matapos madiskubre ang secret agreement sa China.
Samantala, hinimok naman ni Camiguin Rep Jurdin Jesus Romualdo ang Department of Justice (DOJ) na imbestigahan si Alvarez at kasuhan.
“The response to the seditious statement should be the immediate filing of a criminal case so that the move to incite people, including the military, to rebel against the government will be nipped in the bud,” paliwanag ni Romualdo.
Sinabi ni Romualdo na ang mga naging pahayag ni Alvarez sa rally sa Tagum City kamakailan ay pasok sa kasong sedition.
Ikinalungkot din ni Romualdo ang inaasal sa ngayon ni Alvarez na kapwa nya mambabatas sa Mindanao, aniya, hindi dapat palampasin ang ginagawa pang pang-iinsulto ni Alvarez mismo kay Pangulong Marcos na tinawag nitong bobo.
“What you say often reflects on you. It shows what kind of person you are,” dagdag pa nito.
Sa naganap na rally sa Tagum City bilang pagppakita ng suporta kay datig Pangulong Duterte ay hinimok ni Alvarez ang AFP na bawiin ang suporta kay Pangulong Marcos upang mapilitan na itong bumaba sa pwesto, aniya, ang pagbaba sa pwesto ni Marcos ang syang magpapahinto sa tensyon sa West Philippine Sea.
“Sa mapayapang paraan, please withdraw your support for the chief executive. Kapag nag-withdraw kayo (AFP) ng suporta sa kanya, wala na siyang ibang magagawa kung hindi bumaba sa puwesto.” nauna nang pahayag ni Alvarez.
Ang rally ay isinagawa sa gitna ng isyu ng secret agreement sa pagitan ni Duterte nang ito ang Pangulo pa ng bansa at ng China kaugnay sa WPS.
